Television became so popular that the 50's is remembered as the
Golden Age of Television". There were 3.1 million television sets in houses across America, with over 100 television stations operating in 38 of the United States. Americans relied on the radio and the newspaper for news, media, and information. Soon there were television shows that appealed to almost everyone.
